| Rebels End Season in Regional Quarterfinals |

The Tascosa Rebel baseball season came to end on Saturday, May 23, 2009 when they lost to 6th ranked Odessa High in game two of the Region I Class AAAAA Regional Quarterfinal round of the Texas High School Baseball Playoffs. Tascosa lost game one by a score of 3-1 and game two by a final score of 7-1. The Rebels finished with a district record of 11-6 and an overall record of 20-16.
What a great year for Tascosa baseball!
Here are the accomplishments of the 2009 history-making Tascosa Rebels:
* - Finished tied for 2nd in a 10 team District 2-AAAAA
* - 2009 Region I Class AAAAA Bi-District Champions – Third time in school history (2004 & 2008)
* - 2009 Region I Class AAAAA Area Champions – 1st team in the 50-year history of Tascosa High School to win the Area Championship
* - 2009 Region I Class AAAAA Regional Quarterfinalists – 1st team in school history to advance to the third round of the playoffs
* - Finished as one of the Top 32 teams in Texas High School Baseball in Class AAAAA
* - Finished as one of the Top 8 teams in Region I Class AAAAA
* - Three wins shy of tying the school record of 23 wins in a season

Former Tascosa standout pitcher Byron Chew passed away on June 20, 2009.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009 in St. Stephen United Methodist Church.
Byron graduated from Tascosa in 2008 and went on to play baseball for Midland College. Byron will be sorely missed.
